My final year project focused on fixing our relationship with electronic goods. Over their lifetime, the average UK citizen will generate over 3.3tonnes of WEEE. In today’s “throw-away” society, consumers are more inclined to dispose of their “ugly” or repairable electrical goods and purchase cheap replacements.
After months of research, the electric kettle was targeted as one of the most environmentally damaging products in the household. To put it simply, my goal for this project was to design the most sustainable kettle possible and reduce WEEE by introducing a circular economy.
